
Dyesha Darby
M.Ed.
Dyesha Darby is a dedicated community advocate, educator, and prevention leader with over two decades of experience in suicide, violence, and drug prevention; survivor advocacy; and community mental health awareness. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Bowling Green State University and a master's in education. She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at Cleveland State University.
Dyesha began her career serving communities most harmed and least helped, with a strong commitment to trauma-informed care, equity, and empowerment. Her clinical interests include grief and loss, trauma, justice-impacted individuals, high-risk youth, Black and Brown women, perinatal support (pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum), abandonment, and life transitions. She is dedicated to reshaping generational narratives through holistic approaches to wellness that center healing, cultural responsiveness, and community connection.
Currently, Dyesha serves as the Director of Community and School-Based Prevention at a nonprofit organization in Central Ohio. In this role, she leads suicide and violence prevention teams and oversees school-based prevention efforts, youth-led initiatives across the region, and community engagement. She brings a wealth of expertise in youth-centered programming, community partnership development, and promoting collective well-being through education and policy change.
Dyesha is deeply committed to addressing the root causes of gender-based violence and community-generational trauma and building collective strategies that foster safety and resilience within marginalized communities. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, crafting, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
