Lakesha is completing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. She previously earned a Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Grand Valley State University.
With more than 20 years of experience in both education and the corporate sector, Lakesha has worked extensively with high school and college students while also serving in business organizations. She has taught courses on college preparation and career development to at-risk youth and has served in ministry with both youth and adults. Additionally, she designs and facilitates workshops on workplace stress and leadership development. Her professional accomplishments have earned her recognition in the 2025 issue of Influential Women Magazine, a national publication highlighting women who are driving innovation, making an impact, and shaping industries.
Lakesha is married with one daughter and enjoys family time, traveling, dining out, and listening to music. She is passionate about empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential both personally and professionally. In her counseling practice, Lakesha takes an eclectic approach, drawing from multiple theoretical perspectives to address the unique needs of each client. Her methods include evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, existential therapy, and trauma-informed care.
